Dr. Ellen Yuan, as an Investment Director at GRC, is committed to investing in enterprises that drive carbon neutrality. Her investment portfolio spans from synthetic biology and bioengineering materials to energy storage and hydrogen energy. Drawing on her experience in interdisciplinary bioelectrochemistry labs, Dr. Yuan possesses a profound understanding of electrochemical catalysis, foundational technologies in synthetic biology, hydrogen fuel cells, and redox flow batteries. Dr. Yuan is responsible for GRC’s investment process and post investment management in projects like PAM2L Biotech, PhaBuilder, and Hydrogen Solutions. Prior to joining GRC, Dr. Yuan served as a postdoctoral researcher at the Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Her contributions in applying biofoundry to strain cultivation, screening, and enzyme-directed evolution have advanced the industrialization of synthetic biology. Dr. Yuan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Beijing Normal University and a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Utah.
